Pot-pourri in the platter

A simple white platter becomes a Christmas decoration and after Christmastime changes into other decorations for your house

This Christmas decoration is easy to do even for people who don't know the gold leaf technique.
This Christmas decoration is very refined: the colours are well combined as you can see in the photo.

Step one: prepare the platter. We chose a white ceramic platter but we think an alternative, good idea could be a wooden plate.
Step two: apply the gilding glue on the surface (only on the border). Leave for 30-60 minutes until it becomes transparent and adhesive.
Step three: apply the gold leaf fragments. Press them with delicacy. Let the fragments dry for 24 hours.
Step four: apply the water-based finisher and let it dry. Its use causes the fragments to oxidise.
Step five: arrange pot pourri elements on the centre.Then add the roses and Christmas balls (glossy and opaque).

Note

After Christmastime you can remove the Christmas balls and let pot pourri and roses on the platter.
