bronx: american cocktail

Cocktail card

Type: short (IBA version)
Alcoholic level: alcoholic
Basic liqueur: Gin
Equipment: shaker
Glassware: double cocktail glass
Garnish: undecorated

Ingredients
4/10 Gin
2/10 Dry Vermouth
2/10 Red Vermouth
2/10 fresh orange juice

How to make it
Place some ice cubes in the shaker and add all the other ingredients. Shake for 6-8 seconds and strain into the chilled glass. Serve undecorated. The cocktail is ready.

Variations
This is a relic of the old American Prohibition era and was originally made with "bathtub gin" of very dubious quality.
This is a robust cocktail; you can serve it before a meal.
You can find the same ingredients (but doses are different) in another cocktail: Knickerbocker.
