This cake is easy to do when you have sponge cake and creams ready. We can help you because you can see the recipes of chocolate cream, chantilly cream and sponge cake in
our pages. But you can also find sponge cake, chocolate and pastry creams, yet ready, in every supermarket if you have no time. You can prepare chantilly cream mixing whipped
cream with pastry cream following our instructions in this page. When you are going to whip heavy cream, remember to use it very cold and add some icing sugar. The operation will be easier and your cream will be sweetened.
When you have all the ingredients ready, make the following steps. Cut your sponge cake
into three layers. Soak lightly every layer with rum diluted in milk or water. It's difficult to
say what is the right quantity of rum. It depends on your taste and on children. If the cake
is for them, we suggest to use milk with some drops of fruit syrup.
Put the first layer on the serving platter and spread the chocolate cream on the surface.
Cover with the second layer and spread the chantilly cream on this surface. Cover with the third layer and spread the whipped cream on the top and around.
Decorate your cake according to your taste and the special occasion you have to celebrate. We give some suggestions:
- fresh fruit (strawberries and kiwis or wild berries);
- flakes of chocolate;
- candied cherries;
- various kinds of cookies;
- candied fruit;
- little pieces of canned pineapple.

What's the right wine?

Our suggestion is: a good dessert wine.
