Margarita cocktail

Identity Card

Alcoholic level: alcoholic

Basic liqueur: Tequila

Equipment: shaker

Glassware: Paris Goblet

Garnish: undecorated

Ingredients:

  • 5/10 Tequila
  • 3/10 Triple Sec
  • 2/10 lime or lemon juice
  • A lemon segment
  • Salt

How to make it:

Moisten the rim of the glass with the lemon segment and frost with salt; let the glass cool well in the freezer. Place some ice cubes in the shaker and add all the other ingredients (Tequila, Triple sec and lime or lemon juice). Shake for 6-8 seconds and strain into the chilled glass. The cocktail is ready.

Variations and note:

This is an after dinner cocktail. You can also serve it in a double cocktail glass or in a margarita glass (sombrero). There are many legends about its origin. It seems that it was created by Danny Herrera, who owned Rancho La Gloria between Rosarito Beach and Tijuana. In the late 1940s, one of his guests, a showgirl, could drink only mixed tequila. So Danny invented a lot of mixtures: the best was known all over the world as Margarita. There are many cocktails based on Tequila such as: Midori Margarita or Sames Margarita
