Choose ripe but firm grapes. Wash them and remove the berries from the stalk.
Put them in a saucepan; bring to the boil and, after lowering the flame, cook them, half-covered, for about 20 minutes, stirring now and then.
Then mash the berries with a wooden spoon and keep on cooking for about 5 minutes.
Pass the mixture through a moulilegumes or mash, then sieve to remove their seeds.
Weigh the mixture and add 100g (3 1/2 ounces)sugar every 500g (1.1 pound) mixture.
The real quantity of sugar depends on the sweetness of the chosen grapes.
Bring to the boil again; lower the flame and keep on cooking, stirring now and then, for 10-15 minutes.
Let the jam cool, pour into the glass jars and sterilize them for an hour.

Note

  • - It's very good for making jam tart or apple tart.
  • - The same recipe can be used for realizing other grape jams but you must remember the amount of sugar must be varied (increased) according to the kind of the chosen grapes.
  • - It's impossible to calculate the nutrition facts of fox grape jam because the amount of fresh grape is variable.
