Chianti Classico - DOCG (GPDO)
- Pair wine Chianti Classico with:
all meals, but especially suited for poultry, barbeque, stews and spicy cheese
- Production area of Chianti Classico DOCG:
- slopes up to 250 to 600 meters between Florence and Siena characterized by thick woods; the soil is predominantly sandstone at the higher altitudes and calcareous clay at lower altitudes
- Vine selection :
- Sangiovese (minimum 80%) and others
- Colour:
- intense ruby red with maroon highlights with aging
- Aroma:
- typical, intense, of violets
- Taste:
- dry, harmonious, slightly tannic when young, acquires softness with age
- Minimum alcohol content:
- 12%
- Aging:
- 12 months prior to release

- Riserva:
- the Riserva must have min alcholic content of 12.5%; the Riserva must age for at least two years.
- Serving temperature of wine Chianti Classico:
- Serve the wine at: 60° - 64° Farenheit (16° - 18° Celsius), opening the bottle few hours before serving
