- wide stretch of land running from Ascoli Piceno to the south of Senigallia, encompassing Ancona, the regional capital; its grapes can be grown in the hills up to 700 m

- Montepulciano (35 - 70%), Sangiovese (30 - 50%), others (0 - 15%)
