Ladyfingers, in Italian savoiardi, are delicate biscuits that I always suggest to enjoy together with a cup of chocolate or tea if homemade. If you prefer to use them for other desserts (you can see some examples below), you should buy them already made ;)

Savoiardi: biscuits from north to south in Italy

What's the origin of these biscuits? Piedmont, for sure. But Savoy family dominated a lot regions in Italy in the past and so every part of their kingdom inherited the recipe, Sicily included!

They are used in the Italian cuisine very much for fantastic desserts, some of them famous all over the world. Think about tiramisu, for example.
