Authentic Italian Cooking
Italian cold seafood appetizers
The question is: what's the best season to prepare and eat a cold starter made with fish, crustaceans and molluscs? almost all year round, without any distinction between winter and summer months even if everyone prefers them when it's hot.
How to serve cold seafood starters
Some examples? What do you think of fish carpaccio? nowadays you can do it with salmon, tuna, swordfish. My husband and I have also eaten shrimp and octopus carpaccio. Delicious! And then there are seafood salad, marinated anchovies, marinated fish, oysters, raw shrimp ... They are traditional, widely-used recipes, of course, but it is equally true that seafood lovers like them a lot.
I often prepare prawn or scampi salads, with or without added vegetables and sauces.
They all are tempting, tasty dishes that can be used to assemble an assorted antipasto platter, Italian style too.
